I created the above podcast for my Multimedia for Educators graduate class. I used the Garageband software to incorporate a mixture of photos, jingles, audio and professional research to create a media enhanced project that informs teachers and professionals about effective teaching techniques for students with autism. Garageband was very user friendly, and I learned a ton about navigating the program through this project. I also used Adobe Photo Shop to create slides with text on them. I had some difficulty with image size and pixels, but figured it out through trial and error. It took much time and effort to re-size the images, and make it look how I wanted it to. I did enjoy researching the topic of autism, as it pertains to my teaching experiences from day to day. I hope that the information in this podcast gives people in the education field a grasp on some tips for teaching students with autism, for it is important to recognize each child's unique qualities, and incorporate them into your daily lessons. I liked using the chapters in Garageband because it gave the podcast guidance, and allowed you to access a specific strategy. At the bottom of this page are the script and a list of resources used to compile the information on Autism.
The video above is my podcast in YouTube format. I am not satisfied with the appearance of this video. It zoomed in the pictures to a corner, and made some look blurry. It frustrated me because it looked so much different from the Garageband M4A file. I wonder if there is a way to get around this, for this is how the public will view my hard work.
